| On Saturday before Mother's Day, Matt and I, and Matt's dad and brother and friend ran the Run for Life 5k here. My goal was to finish without stopping, and I did it! My time was around 31:45. Yay! This photo is us at the finish line. We sprinted from the three mile mark. | | |
| Well, I did it! Yesterday I ran three miles without stopping. Next weekend, we've signed up for a 5k run. Me, Matt, Matt's Dad and his brother, that is. Matt's dad has been a huge encouragement to me. We've been running together once or twice a week. I love running! I think I'll try to do another 5k before the summer is over. We'll see. Everything else is going well. I never thought I'd be able to run that far. It makes me wonder what else I'm capable of that I don't give myself credit for...hmm.Things are fine with work. Teaching is going well, and so is nannying. I'm going to go ahead and do the nannying again next year, at least until December. And I'll be doing it one day a week this summer. That's about it. | | |
| Well, time for my semi-annual update here. Although many may have given up on me, and probably don't even check this any more. I've taken up running. It's my new obsession. I love it! Or at least, I love the idea of it. And I always feel good afterwards. But, you know, I'm just terrible at it. I've started a beginning training program that will supposedly have me running three miles or half an hour straight by the end of nine weeks. I'm on week three. So we'll see. Here's my new motivational verse: "I run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free!" (Exclamation and emphasis added ) Psalm 119:32 Running does make you feel free, like you're flying. I really like it. Matt bought me some new running shoes to help motivate and encourage me. We're going running today in Sharon Woods, a three mile loop around a lake. We won't run the whole way, obviously. But it is a beautiful day today and we have to get outside! I made this blue and gray, because that how it is outside. Cloudy and raining, but warm. | | |
| Well, my life as a homeowner is quite as much work as I thought it would be. But, like a new homeowner, I don't mind it, it is fun to be able to do whatever I want to a space to make it my own. (And Matt's, of course.) Today I took down wallpaper, and painted. Tomorrow, who knows? The excitement never ends! | | |
| Happy Anniversary to us! Number two went well yesterday, Matt came home for lunch and brought me flowers, and later, after Matt's ballgame, we went out to Outback for dessert and they gave us complementary champagne. We are making scrapbook of our engagement in Scotland together. Matt saved everything. :) | | |
